Named after the Madrona Tree that is common to where we live, Gig Harbor, WA. Gig Harbor is a small community with access to Puget Sound, many lakes, and everything the Pacific Northwest has to offer. Our dogs are a blend of Hunting and Conformation lines to produce beautiful and functional dogs. The Chesapeake is a multipurpose dog, capable of Obedience, Agility, Tracking, and Therapy in addition to there reputation as exceptional Hunting dogs. Looks and drive make an exceptional Chessie, and an exceptional Family companion.

Her mom Macy, GCH Madrona's Game Of Thrones DJ CGC was Select Bitch, Best Veteran, Best Bred By Exhibitor 2 shows and a Judges Award of Merit coming back out as a Veteran after several years off. She show 3 times with 3 awards. Good girl Macy! 8-15-25 Olympic Kennel Club BEST OPPOSITE/BEST OF WINNERS Chugach-Madrona Le Nozze Di Figaro DS Figaro was Reserve Winners Dog every other day and now has 13 points towards his Champion title with 3 Major wins. He just needs 2 single points for his title. He did Dock Diving and earned his Senior Title.

August 2025 Enumclaw Cluster Results 8-13-25 Rainier Sporting Dog Association 8-14-25 Rainier Sporting Dog Association 8-14-25 Evergreen Chesapeake Bay Retriever Club BEST OF BREED GCHB BISS Madrona's Early Morning Rain At Delilah's Delight' DJ Lilah wins three big shows in a row. She earned her Grand Champion Bronze too. She moved up to the #5 Chesapeake in the Country with very limited showing this year. 6 wins in 8 shows. Lilah went home for the weekend and just had fun at the dock and earned her Dock Junior Title!
8-16-25 Olympic Kennel Club 8-17-25 Olympic Kennel Club BEST OF BREED GCH Madrona's Queen Of The Ironwood Throne RA DS CGC I brought Mia out for the weekend to try and get her Grand CH title as she only needed 6 points. She did it in style by going Best of Breed both days! She is young and still maturing and will get even better.

| Please be extremely
careful when buying a Chesapeake, there are breeders that
are NOT doing health clearances.
Chesapeakes have several debilitating genetic conditions that can be tested for, ask to see the test results, do not take anyone's word for it. Ask for PRA, DM, EIC DNA test results at minimum! Just because it sounds good, doesn't mean it is legit. Ask to see AKC paperwork and OFA hips/ elbows/ eye results also. Be an educated buyer or you may regret it years down the road when your cute puppy comes down with an awful disease that could have been prevented! I explain health clearances under the Puppy Info page. I am happy to refer you to a quality breeder that does health clearances. |
